Project Description

Our Vision is for a future where all young people are listened to, respected and supported.

Centre 33’s Mission is:

• to offer young people support with practical issues and emotional needs that is free, confidential, empowering, easy-access and high quality.

• to actively work with other local services so that young people’s needs are met and their voices are heard.

We apply the following Values to all our work and those we work with:

We are young people-led, collaborative, inclusive and striving for excellence.

Centre 33 exists to help every young person in Cambridgeshire fulfil your potential. We support and empower you to overcome your problems through a range of free and confidential services.

We offer free counselling and wellbeing support, information on sexual health, housing, budgeting and also a young carers’ project. We run out of 5 main centres over 6 days a week and work with 1000’s of young people in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough every year.

See here for a bit more detail about our strategic priorities.

A short history

We were established in 1981 with 1 paid worker, 10 volunteers and a steering group.

Our building in Clarendon Street had previously been used as a young people’s health clinic. And we continued some of their work when we took over. We started providing services in Ely in 2005, and in Huntingdon St Neots and Wisbech in 2015.

In 2017 we established our drop in at Peterborough. See more about our history here.

Talk to Us

At Centre 33 we believe that all young people have a right to be listened to, and to influence or make the decisions which affect their lives.  This means that we give young people the opportunity to express their opinions about what we do, and that we are willing and able to take action and make changes as a result of what they say.

It is important to us that young people who use our services can tell us what they think of them, so that we can change and improve. We welcome your feedback and encourage you to complain if you are not happy. We are also happy to receive feedback from anyone we interact with: supporters, professionals, family members etc.

To give us feedback you can email us on hello@centre33.org.uk

To make a complaint, please send us an e-mail telling us what happened and why you are not happy. Please send it to the below email address hello@centre33.org.uk

To bring up any confidential worries or issues with the service you are receiving and the staff providing it, please email freedomtospeakup@centre33.org.uk in confidence.

You are also welcome to leave comments in our comments books in our sites.

If you would like to speak with someone about a problem you are having then please email or call and we’ll find the right person for you.
